Sustainability

Designing for the Long Term

Sustainability is always at the core of our design thinking. We are acutely aware of the pressing challenges posed by global environmental change and look to find sustainable solutions wherever practicable. Every project we pursue—whether small in scale or grand in ambition—is approached with a tailored strategy that balances creative vision with practical execution. Long term success comes from merging artistry with both sustainability and functionality. We aim to create beautiful buildings that are built to last. Designing sustainable spaces goes beyond good intentions—it requires thoughtful planning and navigating sometimes competing priorities. With a smart design, an energy-efficient home can be just as cost-effective as a traditional one—and it’s undoubtedly kinder to the planet. If you have your heart set on having a LEED-certified space, we have LEED Accredited Professionals on our team. Our team is trained to design and document the above outlined items. We also have a dedicated head of sustainability who researches materials and makes proposals for the team to use on projects.

Technology

Harnessing Progressive Technology for Exceptional Client Experiences

At our boutique architecture and interior design firm, innovation is at the heart of how we serve our clients. We believe in the power of technology to streamline complex processes, enhance design precision, and save both time and money. Our progressive approach incorporates state-of-the-art tools that allow us to conduct projects efficiently as we try to ensure that every detail aligns seamlessly with the overall vision. A cornerstone of our technological approach is the use of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology to scan existing spaces with a high level of detail. By capturing millions of data points, we generate detailed point clouds that provide a comprehensive digital representation of the environment. This data allows us to create a detailed Revit model from the outset, reducing the need for manual measurements and minimizing inconsistencies often associated with as-built conditions. We rely on Revit from concept to completion, integrating it across every phase of a project, from Schematic Design (SD) to Construction Administration (CA). The comprehensive use of Revit ensures a single, coordinated model that evolves throughout the design and documentation process. It allows us to manage complex geometries, test design options, and maintain an intelligent model where all changes are reflected across drawings, schedules, and visualizations in real-time. It also allows us coordinate with consultants in real time, translating into faster decision-making, more precise documentation, and fewer delays during construction—key benefits for our clients. We bring the same approach to the interior design process. We utilize Design Spec, a specialized platform for documenting furniture and finish selections while managing procurement. With Design Spec, we can create detailed schedules, track orders, and ensure all finish selections are clearly communicated and approved. This reduces miscommunication and accelerates the specification and ordering process, helping our clients achieve their design goals on time and within budget. Looking ahead, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in architecture offers even greater opportunities to transform the design and project delivery process. AI can assist architects by analyzing data, optimizing space planning and supporting faster exploration of creative concepts. Additionally, AI-powered tools can automate repetitive tasks such as code compliance checks, clash detection of trades, and material optimization This saves time and money, while allowing architects to focus on creative problem-solving.

Woman-Owned

Benefits of Hiring a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise

Hiring a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) firm offers clients numerous advantages, from promoting diversity and inclusion to enhancing project outcomes. Engaging a WBE supports gender equality, aligns with corporate DEI goals, and reflects a commitment to social responsibility, especially in fields like architecture where women remain underrepresented. WBE firms often bring unique perspectives and creative problem-solving approaches, fostering innovation and delivering exceptional results. Additionally, many public and institutional projects have diversity requirements, and hiring a WBE can help clients meet participation goals while accessing financial incentives and tax benefits. Our firm’s expertise in guiding clients through the entire project lifecycle, from permits to finishing details, ensures a seamless experience while minimizing stress for the client. This comprehensive approach, paired with your specialized focus on institutional markets like higher education in the NY tristate area, makes your firm particularly well-suited for projects seeking both excellence and compliance. Supporting a WBE also strengthens local economies and small businesses while enhancing the client’s reputation as a socially responsible organization committed to equity and high-quality design.
