Housed in the building of a former printing press and located on the edge of one of Manhattan’s most rapidly developing neighborhoods, Hudson Yards, this dated loft needed a modern touch. The owners, a blended family consisting of two fathers and their children, hoped to renovate that space so that it would serve as a comfortable space for the family while the children were in school. We lifted the kitchen ceiling and installed budget friendly, striking cabinetry to visually open the space and create a true “loft” feeling. A patterned black and white floor was added to define the kitchen space and complement the straight lines of the room’s backsplash.  The walls of the two children’s rooms were pushed out to increase the floor space, and new transom windows were added to match newly installed panel doors.
